About Paul
Paul Essi is a seasoned and universally respected research analyst, money manager and stock picker with over forty years of investment experience. Mr. Essi received a B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University of Ohio and an M.B.A from Babson College, Boston.
Paul began his career as Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager for Shaw Management in Portland, Oregon, where he managed two funds and researched equity and venture capital investments. He then joined William K Woodruff and Company as a Partner and Director of Research. At WKW, he established and developed an equity research department geared toward institutional investors, as well as marketing research to institutional clients. From there, Paul went on to become VP of Investments at Arnhold and S. Bleichroder in New York, NY, where he researched and marketed domestic and international equities to institutional clients, as well as having the same role at A.G. Edwards & Sons.
As Managing Partner at First Fiduciary, an investment advisory firm in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Essi was responsible for establishing a marketing presence while managing the research, portfolio management, trading, and personnel. While at First Fiduciary, assets under management grew from less than $50 million to over $700 million. Immediately prior to rejoining Bill Woodruff in 2020, Paul established Essi Consulting, providing independent research and valuation of private and public companies for a wide range of institutions and high net worth individuals.
